We individualize everything. If the patient says, "I just hate this one tooth. Doctor did it 30 years ago. It ugly to me," we just fix that one tooth. A lot of times, nowadays, the whitening that we offer for free is included, and that's usually the first step. If patients want a brighter, whiter smile, a lot of times, the first thing we'll do is just talk about options just to make them whiter. If they're crooked or not straight, we talk about Invisalign.
We try to do the most that we can do without picking up a drill, honestly. If we can whiten them up, great. That's all we have to do. If you wanna whiten them and change out a couple crowns here or there to make it look a little bit better, or a lot better in some cases, then we can do that. Invisalign is a big piece of that for us.
We can offer the patient a solution to about 90% of their problems, and we never have to pick up the drill. They never have to get numb. They can essentially get two impressions, which eventually those are going to go away with digital imaging, and they get an X-ray. They can have the smile of their dreams without ever having to through any of the stuff that can potentially make them anxious.
Whiten Your Teeth For Life
Veneers are kind of like a contact lens for your tooth. It's a very, very thin layer of porcelain that's meant to change the outside shape or appearance and sometimes color of the teeth. As far as veneers go, it's mainly strictly a desire thing. "I want my teeth to look this way." We'll do a veneer because we don't want to cut a lot of the tooth structure away. They're good healthy teeth, the patient just doesn't like the way they look, and they want to change the size and shape and sometimes color because maybe whitening options haven't worked. Not all teeth whiten extremely well, and so veneer can be an option.
The bleaching treatments are long-lasting and include materials that strengthen the teeth. We even have a special program called Whitening For Life. Patients are eligible for the program if they continue to return to the office for their regular six-month dental cleanings and dental exams.
Make Your Smile Pop With Tooth Bonding or Veneers
Our office can use tooth bonding, also known as composite bonds, to correct chips or cracks in the teeth, but in many cases we need a stronger material to restore your smile. Veneers can repair teeth with chips, breaks, or heavy stains. We work with a laboratory to create these durable and strong restorations that will last years. To place veneers, we first remove a portion of the enamel and then take impressions for your permanent restoration. Because the e.max veneer material we use is extremely strong, we remove very little tooth structure. The end result is a permanent restoration that will give you a stunning smile!
You Don’t Have To Live With Crooked Teeth
As far as whitening goes, there's the three options. There's go down to Fred Meyer, CBS, and pick up one of those at home kits. It's a very low percentage of bleach, and sometimes it's ... I think it's in the 10 to 12 percent range. Might even be less than that depending on which kit you get. So you can do that, the Crest White Strips, and it'll just take longer to where you want to go. The stuff that we offer, we have a 20% and a 35% depending, again, on how white you want to go and how fast you want to get there, and they're custom fit trays that fit each individual person, instead of the kind of blocky gel already preformed. And so they're easier to use, you don't need to use as much bleach, and since they're designed to fit your teeth, you don't have a lot of bleach leaking out onto your gums, which can burn your gums, and cause them to turn white for a day or two if you're not careful, if you use too much of it.
Then we have the in office whitening, where you come in, and you sit down in the chair, and we take about an hour, and we whiten, and you are as white as you could possibly be when you leave. And each of those obviously has a cost. With the free whitening that we offer, most patients elect for that. They'll take it and do it for free, because well, it's free, and it'll take maybe a week to two versus two hour. Other patients don't have the time, they don't want to do it, they know they'll go home and it'll go in a drawer and they won't use it, so they opt for the in office whitening, which is great, and it's just percentages and how long. What's your time worth to you? If you want to take three hours to whiten each day, and do that for a couple of weeks with the store, that's great. If you don't, we have the free kit here, which ... Why would you pay for something that's gonna take twice as long?
Uncover That Beautiful Smile, Reshape Jagged Teeth
So many of us are walking around with jagged tooth edges or front teeth that are different lengths. Even the tiniest imperfections on your teeth can make your smile look unhealthy. With a process known as tooth contouring, we can reshape the teeth and give you a more uniform, healthy-looking smile.
But it’s not just teeth that make the difference between a bad and great smile; your gums also play a role. In addition to assessing the health of the gums, we look at the appearance and shape of your gums. Many patients struggle with what we call a “gummy smile,” which occurs when too much of the gum covers the tooth. To correct this problem, we use a state-of-the-art laser to reshape the gum and uncover more of your healthy tooth’s crown. We call this treatment crown lengthening. By correcting your gummy smile, you can uncover your beautiful natural teeth and increase the overall health of your gums!
We have the ability to fix multiple aspects of your smile, and one tool that plays a huge role in our smile makeover cosmetic procedures is the dental wax-up. After we have created a mold of your teeth, we then place the restorations on the mold. Think of a dental wax-up as a special smile preview. We understand that it can be difficult to imagine what your procedures will look like, but the wax-up gives you a physical reference as you make the decision of whether to move forward with dental treatment!
